Police: Woman assaulted trying to collect babysitting payment
State police said a woman assaulted her babysitter with a baseball bat when she tried to collect her payment at a Nicholson Township home.
Elizabeth Rose Albrecht, 26, of Fourth Street in Masontown was arraigned Thursday on charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats and two counts of simple assault.
Bethany D. Gordan reported to state police she arrived at 31 5th and Cross Street at about 7:30 p.m. to collect money for babysitting Albrecht’s daughter.
“Albrecht opened the door and told her she was not getting her money,” state police wrote in the affidavit of probable cause filed in her case.
Gordan said she was leaving when Albrecht took a baseball bat from inside and hit a gas grill, saying she would hit her with the bat if she did not get off the porch. Albrecht allegedly pushed Gordan down as she was walking off the porch, injuring her arm, and hit her in the forehead with the bat, causing bruising and swelling.
Albrecht was taken into custody at her address later that night, according to state police. She reportedly admitted to pushing Gordan, hitting the grill with the bat and threatening her.
She is lodged in Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $15,000 bond.
