Edwin P. Haines, age 92, Gibbon Glade, Pa. passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at his home.

He was born Saturday, September 19, 1925 in Wharton Township, Fayette County, Pa., the son of Cloyd and Zelphia (Cupp) Haines.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth “Libbey” (Pyro) Haines; a son, Rodney Haines; grand daughter Jennifer Haines brother Fred Haines; sister Doris Haines Lake; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Andy and Myrtle Pyro.

Mr. Haines served in the United States Navy during World War II

He was a retired Foreman for Penn Line Service.

He was a Life Member of Farmington Volunteer Fire Department, a Life Member of the Wharton Township Hunting and Fishing Club, and avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his children: Linda Haines Tissue of Farmington, Pa Edwin Haines Jr. of Gibbon Glade, Pa., Douglas Haines and wife Dora of Farmington, Pa., Lana Haines Fleming and husband Larry of Farmington, Pa.; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, FARMINGTON, Pa., on Sunday, May 27, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m., Memorial Day from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, May 29, from 10 until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Reverend Charles Teets officiating.

Interment will follow in Thomas Cemetery where Military Rites and Honors will be accorded by General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Farmington Volunteer Fire Department.
