Blood drive
The Carmichaels Area Senior High School chapter of the National Honor Society will hold an American Red Cross community blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 20, at the high school gymnasium. LH no school
There will be no school for students in the Laurel Highlands School District on the following dates:
n Nov. 21, Parent-teacher conferences, 8-11:30 a.m.
n Nov. 22-26, Thanksgiving break.
n Nov. 27, Parent-teacher conferences, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
AG parent-teacher conferences
The Albert Gallatin Area School District will hold parent-teacher conferences in all schools from 2-4 p.m. and from 5-8 p.m., Nov. 27. All schools will be closed that day for students. The building principal/head teacher will provide additional information on how conferences will be scheduled in their respective schools.
Seminar set
California University of Pennsylvania’s Government Agency Coordination Office (GACO) will sponsor a free seminar on federal construction contracting from 9 a.m. to noon, Dec. 5, at Nova Place (formerly Allegheny Center) in Pittsburgh, for companies to learn about wage rates, contract changes and how to avoid conflict in getting paid. Seminars slated
The Institute for Law and Public Policy at California University of Pennsylvania will hold seminars for attorneys and other legal professionals on tax law changes from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Dec. 12-13, at the Frank Sarris Public Library in Canonsburg. Each of the continuing education programs is approved for Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education (PACLE) credits. Registration is currently open.
