Daniel Wayne Walters
Daniel “Dan” Wayne Walters, 72, of Smithfield Pa., passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2018 at the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa.
He was born May 23, 1946 in Uniontown, Pa., son of Daniel and Laura (Thorpe) Walters.
Dan graduated from Albert Gallatin High School, Class of 1964.
After graduation, he served in the United States Marines Corps from l964 to 1968.
Before retiring, he was employed as a Engineer for CSX Railroad.
Dan enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching baseball, football and hockey on tv.
He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Betty Lou (Lipscomb) Walters; sons, William J. Barton and Brent Dixon Barton.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Debbie Barber and husband Gary and Brenda Bartock and husband Buzzy all of Smithfield, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; his sister, Elaine Teagarden and husband Earle of Amity, Pa.; special friend Sabine Gaskill of Scottdale, Pa.; aunt, Mary Ann Burner of Smithfield, Pa.; many cousins and friends.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Ave., Masontown, Pa., on Monday, October 15, 2018 from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 until 11:00 a.m., the hour of Service in Funeral Home Chapel. Minister Carl Desmartin will officiate.
Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Masontown, Pa., with Military Rites and Honors accorded by the American Legion Post 423 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4584.
