Uniontown woman charged with stabbing ex-husband over drugs

A Uniontown woman was arrested for allegedly stabbing her ex-husband in the arm Tuesday morning.

Jacqueline L. Brown, 54, of 43 East Main Street is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment.

Uniontown City Police found Robert Smitley at Gallatin Apartments with a deep cut on his forearm. He reportedly told police Brown was the person who stabbed him.

Police found blood throughout the apartment. Brown claimed Smitley was angry at her for taking his Xanax and hit her. Police said she did not have visible signs of injury. She reportedly admitted she stabbed him, once with a small paring knife and again with a larger knife.

She was arraigned Monday afternoon and released. Magisterial District Judge Michael Metro set her bail at $7,500 unsecured.
