John Roman
John Roman, 92, of Brownsville, Pa., passed away on Thursday October 18, 2018.
He was born June 29, 1926 in West Brownsville Pa., the son of Andrew and Helen Roman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary (Adams) Roman; and all three of his siblings, Christine, Charles and Mary.
John served his country in United States Army during World War II with Patton’s 3rd Army 26th Division.
He worked in Vesta 5 Mine and the Prep Plant.
He belonged to United Mine Workers Local 762 and also the Holy Resurrection Russian Orthodox Church in West Brownsville, Pa.
John also was a Farmer all his life.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Darla (Roman) Vihlidal of Washington, Pa.; son, John D. Roman of Gainesville, Virginia; son, Andy M. Roman and Cissy of Brownsville, Pa.; and granddaughter, Alyssa A. Vihlidal of Washington, Pa.
Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pa., Monday, October 22, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the Holy Resurrection Russian Orthodox Church,West Brownsville Pa., with the Very Reverend Stephan Gresh as the Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery, Brownsville, Pa.
Panachida Service will be held in funeral home on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.
