Marie Katherine Bednarik Katz
Marie Katherine (Bednarik) Katz of Uniontown, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 in Mount Macrina Manor after a courageous battle with bladder cancer.
She was born on November 8, 1936, the daughter of William M. Bednarik and Anna (Guley) Bednarik.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Morris Katz brother, William; nephew James Doman; and niece Marjorie Zack.
Marie retired in 1993 after 40 years employment with the Davidson-Tucker Oral Surgery Associates.
She was a member of the Tree of Life Sisterhood and also the Uniontown YMCA.
She is survived by two sisters: Margaret Doman and Lillian Mesco; sister -in-law Shirley Bednarik; special niece and God child, Deborah Wilson and husband Ron whom she loved like a son; a special nephew, James Mesco; loving nieces and nephews: Marlene Meek, Ken Doman, Carolyn Robatin, William Doman, Russ Doman, Bonnie Brockmeyer and Leann Rogers; a special Godson, Scott Robatin; and many great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, and great great nephews.
A special thank you to Pink and Andria Miller for all their help with Marie’s care the past month and Amedisys Hospice and Mount Macrina Manor for their great care.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to DONALD R CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME in Hopwood, Pennsylvania.
There will be no visitation.
Interment and Graveside Burial Services will be at the Holy Society Cemetery, Bennington Road, Hopwood, Pennsylvania.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Diskin Orphanage whose address can be obtained from the Crawford Funeral Home or to the Uniontown Public Library.
