Perryopolis man charged with lighting his own trailer on fire
A Perryopolis man was arrested after several neighbors reportedly witnessed him lighting his own trailer and car on fire.
Pike J. Stillwagon, 34, of 401 Elm St. is charged with two counts each of arson and disorderly conduct and one count of recklessly endangering another person.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case, Stillwagon drew his neighbors’ attention shouting “(expletive) everything, why does nobody help me?” and smashing his windows with a chair. Neighbors told police they saw him pouring something from a can onto his trailer and car.
The trailer was fully engulfed in flames when first responders arrived. Perryopolis police said Stillwagon was walking around the scene with a cooler of beer. He reportedly smelled like kerosene or heating oil and appeared to be intoxicated. Stillwagon told police he did not start the fire, claiming his electrical box was sparking, according to court documents.
He was arraigned Sunday morning before on-call Magisterial District Judge Nathan A. Henning, who set bail at $50,000. Stillwagon remains in Fayette County Prison in lieu of bond.
