Man flown to hospital following Saltlick Township fire

A man was flown to a hospital after a Sunday morning fire in Saltlick Township.

The man was flown to a hospital after a fire that was contained mainly to one room, according to Springfield Township Volunteer Hose Company, which responded to the fire along with Saltlick Township Volunteer Fire Company, Normalville Area Volunteer Fire Department and an additional fire department from Westmoreland County, per Fayette County 911.

The house fire started on the 100 block of Stanton Road, Fayette County 911 said, adding that the call for the emergency came in at 6:27 a.m.

Information on the extent of the man’s injuries was not immediately available Sunday morning.

A state police fire marshal was called to investigate the scene, according to Fayette County 911.
