Paul Thomas Yuras
Uniontown
On Tuesday, February 12, 2019, Paul Thomas Yuras, loving husband and father of three sons, went home to the Lord at the age of 69. Paul, a lifelong resident of Uniontown, PA before moving to Beaufort, NC in 2015, fought a long, hard battle with cancer. This battle never shook his faith as he was a professed Christian who loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart.
Paul was born on October 17, 1949 in Uniontown, PA to Thomas J. Yuras, Jr. and Margaret B. (Hospodavis) Yuras. On October 1, 1983, he married the love of his life, Deborah J. Hoff. They raised three sons, Brice A. of Uniontown, PA; Braden Thomas of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Adam C. of Pittsburgh, PA.
Paul graduated from Carmichaels High School in May 1967. Paul served in the US Army from 1969 to 1972 stationed in Germany as an armature winder. He was a retired pipefitter from US Steel where he worked for 33 years, before returning to work an additional five years in a laboratory. Paul was good at everything. He loved fishing, loved working on anything and everything and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who asked. He was outgoing and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and sharing his opinions with all.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister Janice M. Vavrek who died February 19, 2000.
In addition to his wife and three sons, he will be greatly missed by his sister Mrs. Joyce McCombs and her husband Tom, and by his sister, Mrs. Rose Whipkey of Carmichaels along with his “brother” Russell Whipkey, by his daughter-in-law Emily and his nephews and many friends.
He will also be greatly missed by his sister-in-law, Rosie Docherty and her husband Tony Docherty who, in addition to his wife, were with him in his final minutes and brought him great comfort.
Friends and family members are invited to attend a memorial service to celebrate his life, officiated by Pastor Nicholas Cook at Abundant Life Church, 1239 Brownfield Road, Uniontown, PA on Saturday, March 2 at 11 a.m. with a meal to follow.
