Violet “VT” D. Teodori Gerber
Violet “VT” D. Teodori Gerber, age 91, of Upper Middletown, PA, passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 in Laurel Ridge Center. She was born in Smock, PA, the daughter of the late Luigi Teodori and Rosa Poli Teodori. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, George Gerber, a brother, Geno Theodori, and a sister, Jenny Striker.
VT loved to spend time with her family and friends. Polkas were a joy to her. Sunday morning polkas played in her home while she prepared her family’s spaghetti lunch. Many evenings were spent playing solitaire at the kitchen table or sitting on the porch when the weather was warm. Violet was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church.
Left to cherish VT’s memory are her sons, George Gerber (Kim) of Vanderbilt, PA, Terry Gerber (Claudia) of Lisbon, OH; daughter Sharon Gerber-Parfitt (Simon) of Bedford, England; brother Anthony Theodori of Waltersburg, PA; sisters Anna Vresko of Upper Middletown, PA and Julia Yoder of East Millsboro, PA; seven grandchildren, Carolyn Fagan, George Gerber, Jennifer Perry, Elizabeth Gerber, Emily Whitfield, Julie Gerber, and Hugh Parfitt and seven great-grandchildren, Melanie Fagan, Grasyn Gerber, George Gerber, Sadie Perry, Madelyn Whitfield, Anna Perry, and Gabe Whitfield.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, PA where the family and friends will be received on Wednesday, Feburary 27 from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Thursday from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. Prayers of transfer will be said at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Therese de Lisieux. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.
A Parish Wake service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
