Connellsville Area Ministerial Association will once again offer a series of lunches and services during Lent, a long-time tradition in the city.

“It brings unity within the community and brings the churches together,” said the Rev. Don Smith, president of the ministerial association and pastor of World Christian Outreach Ministries. “People can see different denominations coming together.”

The ministerial association invites the public to gather for a service at noon on Ash Wednesday, March 6 at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, located at 148 E. Crawford Ave. The Rev. Robert Lubic is host pastor.

The ministerial association’s Lenten Lunches will be offered at noon on Tuesdays from March 12 through April 9 at Connellsville Presbyterian Church, located at 701 S. Pittsburgh St. Each lunch will feature a meal and a different speaker.

The schedule for speakers is: March 12, the Rev. Robert Lubic, pastor of the Yough Catholic Community; March 19, Smith, of World Christian Outreach Ministries; March 26, the Rev. Steven Lamb, Otterbein United Methodist Church; April 2 – the Rev. Will Haough of First Baptist; April 9, the Rev. Brian Higbee, City Church of Connellsville.

On Good Friday, April 19, the ministerial association will sponsor a service from noon to 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church, located at 301 S. Pittsburgh St.
