Jean Cannon Everhart
Jean C. Everhart, age 97, of Uniontown, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 in her home. She was born January 19, 1922 in New Athens, Ohio a daughter of the late Earl Cannon and Rowena Peterson Cannon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert “Abe” Everhart, Jr.; brothers, Robert Cannon and John Cannon; two infant sisters and son-in-law, Rusty Fike.
Jean was a 1940 graduate of New Athens High School and a graduate of Ohio University with a degree in education. She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir, was a member of the Bell Choir and served as a Sunday School teacher. Jean was an avid golfer and liked to play bridge. She was the matriarch of the family.
Left to cherish Jean’s memory are her children, Joe Everhart of Uniontown, Bill Everhart (Beth) of Ft. Myers, FL, Linda Evans (Edward) of Uniontown and Mary Fike of Uniontown; grandchildren, Beth and Brad Wilkinson, Gary and Carrie Evans, Bradley Fike and Kristin and Mike Hart and great- grandchildren, Daniel Wilkinson, Aiden Wilkinson, Charley Fike, Rylan Fike, Alex Hart, Lilly Evans and Madeline Evans.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown where family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday, Visitation will continue 10 to 11 A.M. Friday, March 8, in Third Presbyterian Church from followed by a service celebrating Jean’s life at 11 A.M. with Reverand Ronald Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
