Police: Man kicked in Woodview Terrace apartment door, assaulted ex
An 18-year-old man is behind bars for allegedly kicking in a door at Woodview Terrace in North Union Township and assaulting his estranged wife.
Robert Martin Oros of Barkhead Street is charged with burglary, criminal trespass, false imprisonment, simple assault and criminal mischief.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case, state police were called at about 11 a.m. to the Woodview Terrace apartment. The woman who lives in the apartment reportedly told police Oros kicked in her door, grabbed his estranged wife by the arms and took her to the hallway. The woman told police Oros did not have permission to be there.
Neither woman was fully identified in court documents.
The estranged wife reportedly told police Oros knew where she was staying and they were recently separated. She corroborated the first woman’s account, adding Oros pulled hair from her scalp in the hallway. She said she refused to talk to him and went back inside, with Oros following her, according to paperwork filed in the case.
Oros reportedly admitted to state police he kicked the door so he could get inside and talk to her.
Police said he cost $800 in damages.
Oros was arraigned Thursday afternoon before Magisterial District Judge Nathan A. Henning, who set bail at $25,000. Oros remains in Fayette County Prison, unable to post bail.
