Stanley M. “Mike” Roebuck
Stanley M. “Mike” Roebuck, East Millsboro, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the age of 76, with his family at his side.
He was born in New Kensington, Pa. on May 12, 1942 to parents Stanley and Anna Roebuck.
He traveled and worked in numerous states. Served in the U.S. Army, special E4 520 Ordinance Co. Ammo., Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. He earned a National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Badge with Rifle Bar and Good Conduct Medal 1st Award. He served in England and France.
He was employed with Gateway Coal for 20 years and the last eight years as Tipple operator.
He was very proud of his Polish heritage. As a young man he lived to play baseball in High School, County League, and The Army. From all that’s known, he was an outstanding player. He enjoyed professional Baseball and Football.
Mike was a lifetime member of the AMVETS.
He enjoyed being outdoors, was meticulous about his lawn, and was proud of his log home on the hill.
He and his wife Loretta traveled and enjoyed Casinos. They were married in 1997, in the Harrah’s hotel, in Lake Tahoe.
Mike was a down to earth friendly, funny, and generous man who never met a stranger. His family was truly the center of his life.
Preceeding him in death were his parents, Stanley and Anna Roebuck; his brother, William Roebuck and wife Gloria; his sister, Shirley Gemas; and a brother-in-law, Charles Booker.
He is survived by his loving wife, Loretta; his son, Michael Roebuck and Dana; his daughter, Cynthia Roebuck; stepson, Brian Whipkey and Danna; stepdaughter, Christine Buckley; grandchildren, Ethan and Emersyn Roebuck, Kirsty Swaney and Jason, Brittney Whipkey, Melissa Whipkey, Christian, Kolt, Kyler, and Kolin Buckley, Kristen Brownfield and T.J.; great-grandchildren, Shayne Swaney, Elayna Lawrence, and Alora Brownfield; his sister, Patricia Johnson and Andy, sister, Arlene Sigwalt and Ray; sister-in-law, Patricia Armel and Dale; brothers-in-law, Ronald Richter and Nema and Wayne Gemas.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., on Thursday, March 14, from 2 until 4 p.m., the hour of service. Interment in Lafayette Memorial Park with full military rites accorded by AMVET Post 103. www.skirpanfuneralhome.com
