Dorothy “Dot” Marie Parnell, 86, of Lambert, was called home on March 11, 2019 at Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, surrounded by family.

Dorothy was born in Uniontown on January 10, 1933, the daughter of the late George and Johnnie (Allen) Jones.

Dorothy graduated with honors from German Township High School. Before entering into retirement at an early age, she was employed as a Head Start Teacher’s Aide at German Central Elementary School.

She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Lamberton and City Chapel Church, Uniontown.

She was preceded in death by husband, Mose Lee Parnell, Sr.; children, Bryan Parnell, Michelle Parnell, Yvonne Parnell, Richard Parnell; brothers, Frank Jones, George Jones, Jr.; and sister, Velda LeFlore.

Surviving family left to celebrate her memory are sons, Mose (Laura) Parnell, Jr. of Lambert, Vincent (Gayle) Parnell of Randallstown, MD, Kurt (Clyda) Parnell of Lambert, Marvin Parnell of Lambert, Bruce Parnell of Uniontown, Kelvin (Charlene) Parnell of Canonsburg and Michael (Rozener) Parnell of Lancaster, TX; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 7 River Ave., Masontown, on Saturday, March 16 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.; the Hour of Service to immediately follow with Pastor Leonard Kirby officiating.

Interment following in Edenborn Cemetery.
