Vivian Mae (Backes) Mihalcin
Vivian Mae (Backes) Mihalcin, age 69, of Perryopolis, lost her seven year battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at her home. She was born in Mt. Pleasant on March 16, 1949, a daughter of Raymond and Leora Welch Backes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Mihalcin; brother, Samuel Backes; sister, Shirley L. Cecil.
She was a resident of Perryopolis for over 50 years.
Vivian is survived by her children, Darlene Martinak and her loving companion David Knupsky of Grindstone, Marlene Chubboy and her husband Gilbert of Dawson, John Mihalcin and his loving companion Melissa Wise of Perryopolis; grandchildren, Katie Lynn Mixter and her husband Tom of Pittsburgh, Dylan Chubboy of Dawson, Thomas Adam Mihalcin of Uniontown, Leora Caroline Mihalcin of Star Junction.
Vivian’s family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 15, in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday with Pastor Michael Lyons, officiating. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery, Belle Vernon.
