The following information details achievements in education earned by those in the Herald-Standard readership area.

Students win

Nursing students from Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, won the 12th annual Western Pennsylvania SNAP Student Nurse Challenge held Feb. 22 at Penn State New Kensington.

Ten nursing schools competed in the event sponsored by the Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania. Teams of students answered questions based on the nationwide examination for the licensing of nurses (NCLEX). Participating nursing schools included Mt. Aloysius, Butler County Community College, Citizens, Conemaugh, Indiana University of PA, LaRoche College, UPMC St. Margaret, Westmoreland County Community College and West Penn.

This is the first win for the campus. The Fayette team included Kayla Bonus, Cody Grimm, Terry Grimm, Taylor Kuykendall, Christian McNeish, Erica Umbel and Abigail Wade.

Dean’s list honors

Gianna Maria Ruda of Uniontown was named to the dean’s list at Duquesne University for the 2018 fall semester for attaining a 4.0 GPA.
