Police looking for two men who dragged trooper while fleeing traffic stop in North Union Township

1 min read

A Pennsylvania state trooper was pulled with a fleeing vehicle and then thrown to the ground after a traffic stop in North Union Township early Sunday morning, according to Uniontown state police.

Driver Michael Lamont Monroe, 24, and passenger Joshua Emmanuel Linnen, 24, occupied the vehicle that fled at a high rate of speed after police observed a traffic violation, per police, which said the traffic stop was conducted on Clark Street at its intersection with Coolspring Street.

The incident occurred at 2:43 a.m. Sunday, police said.

A short pursuit followed but ended when police lost sight of the vehicle, and police said Sunday morning that the whereabouts of both Monroe and Linnen are unknown despite the suspect vehicle being recovered a short distance away.

Monroe has a National Crime Information Center warrant and both he and Linnen were in possession of multiple Act 64 items, police said. Act 64 is a state statute that relates to controlled substances and other drugs.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Monroe or Linnen is asked to call Uniontown state police at 724-439-7111.
