Million-dollar lottery ticket sold at Chalk Hill Market
Chalk Hill Market sold a jackpot-winning Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 ticket worth $1 million from the Sept. 30 drawing.
“I am very excited,” said Tina Harris, Chalkhill Market owner. “It’s the first one we’ve sold for that much.”
The winning ticket matched all five balls drawn, 16-28-30-40-43, to win $1 million less withholding. Chalkhill Market, located at 2931 E. National Pike, earns a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
“We haven’t heard anything as of yet,” Harris said of the possible identity of the winner. “We have a lot of locals who play regularly, and we hope it’s one of them.”
The Lottery explained in a release that winners can be identified only after prizes are claimed and tickets validated. Cash 5 prizes expire one year from the drawing date. The ticket holder should sign the ticket, call the Lottery at 1-800-692-7481 and file a claim at the nearest Lottery office.
The Lottery noted more than 53,000 other Cash 5 tickets also won prizes in the drawing. Players should check every ticket, every time, and claim lower-tier prizes at a Lottery retailer.
