Wanted man arrested for leading Uniontown police on chase, causing serious injury

Uniontown City Police said Kendric Lamar Brown, 31, of Uniontown fled police in this U-Haul Tuesday night. He reportedly jumped out of the truck while it was still in motion. It hit a fence along South Grant Street.

This North Grant Street house sustained substantial damage after a man allegedly fled police and hit a Toyota 4Runner, forcing it into a home and seriously injuring the driver. Kendric Lamar Brown, 31, of Uniontown was arrested following the pursuit Tuesday night.
A Uniontown man who was wanted on drug charges allegedly fled Uniontown City Police, leaving a person seriously injured and damaging a house.
Kendric Lamar Brown, 31, of Uniontown was driving a U-Haul when he was spotted near Pershing Court at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said they’d received a tip that Brown was in the area, and found him driving the rental truck. When they activated lights and sirens in an effort to get him to pull over, police said Brown backed up to drive around the police cruiser and another vehicle and drove off.
On Hopwood Coolspring Road, police said he hit an occupied SUV and sped through a construction work zone with traffic stopped in both directions. He allegedly fled through Lemont Furnace, turning left into oncoming traffic on Connellsville Street and headed back toward Uniontown at about 90 mph as another police unit joined the pursuit.
Brown allegedly hit an occupied Toyota 4Runner, seriously injuring the front seat passenger and forcing it into a North Grant Street residence, causing severe damage, according to court paperwork. Police said Brown jumped from the moving U-Haul on South Grant Street, which hit a fence and caused $1,000 in damages. Police took him into custody.
He is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude officer, aggravated assault by vehicle, accidents involving death or personal injury, flight to avoid apprehension, criminal mischief, two counts of accident involving attended property damage and three counts of recklessly endangering another person.
Brown was arraigned Tuesday night before Magisterial District Judge Michael Metros, who set bail at $100,000. Brown remains in Fayette County Prison, unable to post bail.
