James William “Bill” Conway

James William “Bill” Conway, 92, of Uniontown, passed away September 9, 2019 in Uniontown Health Care and Rehab.
He was born April 15, 1927 in Uniontown, a son of the late James and Alice Conway. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Thelma Virginia (Nicola) Conway; a brother, Robert Conway; and a beloved nephew, James Conway.
Surviving are his loving daughter, Betty Conway Thomas (Lewis) of Uniontown; granddaughter, Ginger McCoy (Jon) of Belmont N.C.; and great-grandson, Joshua Lewis McCoy of Anderson S.C.
Bill was a member of Brownfield United Methodist Church, he was a 32nd degree member of Fayette Lodge#228 Free & Accepted Masons Gourgas Lodge of Perfection and Uniontown Lodge of Perfection.
He served in World War II in the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the USS Saratoga as a storekeeper 3rd Class.
He retired from Marsolino Construction Company and was a member of Teamsters Local #491.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Uniontown Healthcare and Rehab.
A memorial service will be held in Abundant Life Church 11 a.m. Saturday October 5. A Masonic service will be held as well at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Shady Grove Church and can be sent c/o Carol Herring, 14002 NPH, Bruceton Mills, WV 26525.
