Lemont Furnace

Geraldine R. Havrilla, 92, of Lemont Furnace, passed away Monday, October 14, 2019, at Uniontown Hospital. Born May 29, 1927, in Uniontown, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph E. Havrilla Jr.; and her parents, Greeley and Donna Strawser.

Her beloved children, Debra Adams, Diane Crawford (Philip) of Uniontown, and Timothy Havrilla (Judy) of Haymarket, Va., will remember her fondly.

She was affectionately known as “Bubba” to her grandchildren, Attorney Jason Adams (Misty) of Smock, Joel Adams of Philadelphia, Melanie Leaseburg (Jason) of Ventura, Calif., Jesse Dayton (Emily) of Connellsville, Brennen Dayton (Mariette) of St. Petersburg, Fla., Kristen Havrilla of Madrid, Spain, Emily Havrilla of Virginia Beach, Va., Andrew Arlint of Norfolk, Va.; and great-grandchildren Cody, Tyler, Madison, Kaitlyn, Braxton and Jayna Adams, Kerstin and Trenton Nutt, Elizabeth Patnode (Dante) and Anastasia Leaseburg. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as cousins.

Gerry was a faithful member of the Uniontown Kindom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She graduated from North Union High School and Duffs Business School in Pittsburgh before working as a legal secretary. She was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and an avid viewer of “Days of Our Lives.” She enjoyed playing the violin and piano in her younger days. Loved ones will remember her bright, smiling spirit and heartwarming talks in her welcoming kitchen with only the best snacks for her guests. All agree that her loving, benevolent personality and comforting presence were truly special and unforgettable.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Brandie VanDusen, devoted caregiver and friend in her final years, along with her lovely assistant, Aubriella.

Friends and family will be graciously received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME in Hopwood from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 20, and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. hour of her funeral service Monday, October 21. Interment will follow at Parnell Cemetery in Cuzzart, W.Va.
