The following information details achievements in education earned by those in the Herald-Standard readership area.

Gentile recognized

Christopher Gentile of Ohiopyle is one of 11 students enrolled at universities within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education who is participating this fall in The Harrisburg Internship Semester (THIS), a program offering firsthand experience in state government.

Gentile, a son of Stephanie and Charles Gentile, is a 2002 graduate of Uniontown Area High School and a current senior at California University of Pennsylvania, majoring in political science. He is interning with the state Board of Pardons.

Students enrolled in THIS program earn 15 credits toward any major as they work at the state Capitol. Students receive a $3,500 stipend to assist with living expenses while they reside in the Harrisburg region.
