A man who works in maintenance for an apartment building in Waynesburg was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a tenant.

Jeffrey Scott Davis, 49, who also lives in the building where he works at 554 North Richhill Street went to an apartment at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday asking to followup on a repair he completed the day before, police said.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case, he spoke with her and “continued to linger.” When the woman said she was busy, he allegedly forced himself on her and into a sofa and tried to grope her. She pushed him back and he allegedly put his hand under her clothes as she repeatedly told him to stop and fought him.

He is charged with burglary, simple assault and two counts of indecent assault. Davis was arraigned on a $30,000 unsecured bond. He remains in Greene County Prison unable to post bail.
