A woman who hit a Laurel Highlands Middle School bus turned herself in to Uniontown City Police Tuesday night after fleeing the scene, police said.

The woman, who has not yet been identified, will face misdemeanor charges. She allegedly hit a school bus with 24 children on board just before 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Reppert Boulevard and Connellsville Street.

Witnesses told police she tried to drive away in the car, but it was disabled. She fled on foot, and police searched the area for the woman.

No injuries were reported in the crash.
