More donations come in for Give-A-Christmas campaign
Total: $6,562
Goal: $15,000
Another $495 brought the Give-A-Christmas campaign to $6,562.
“With a week left, we’re still short of our $15,000 goal,” said Sparkle The Christmas Star, the campaign mascot. “I just know we can get there!”
The campaign supports local units of The Salvation Army, with donations staying local to help those in Fayette County.
Money donated through Give-A-Christmas supports programs at units in Masontown, Connellsville, Markleysburg and Uniontown. The campaign, run by the Herald-Standard, is in its 37th year.
Sparkle thanked those who have given so far this year.
“Your generosity is so nice,” Sparkle said. “I hope you really know how much you’ve helped your neighbors.”
The campaign runs through this Thursday, with the final total raised announced in the Christmas Eve/Christmas Day edition of the newspaper.
