Madelyn J. Malinsky Weiss
August 10, 1937 – May 8, 2023
Madelyn J. Malinsky Weiss, of Monee, Ill., formerly of Chicago’s Archer Heights neighborhood, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 8th surrounded by her children.
She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur M. Weiss, Sr.; loving mother of Arthur M. Weiss, Jr. and Lois A. Weiss; cherished grandmother of Liam; loving daughter of the late Carl and Anna Barrish Malinsky, dear sister of Delores Yancich, and brother-in-law, Alex Yancich, doting sister of the late Joseph Malinsky and late Gabriel Malinsky, fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Madelyn was born in Sunshine, Pennsylvania. One of her first jobs was working at the Morning Herald in Uniontown, (which is now the Herald-Standard) for a number of years. Madelyn recalled it was one her most favorite jobs.
Her laughter and energy will be deeply missed by those lives whom she touched with such grace and dignity. She enjoyed her family and friends, along with antiquing in her later years. She loved deeply and will forever be remembered.
Services in Illinois were entrusted to the Zarzycki Manor Chapels, Ltd. Chicago, Ill.
A memorial visitation will be held at the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, 603 N. Gallatin Avenue Ext., Uniontown, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 7, 2023, when prayers of Transfer will be recited followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, All Saints Church, 101 West Church Avenue Masontown, Pennsylvania 15461, at 1 p.m. Burial of cremains will follow at St. Mary (Our Lady of Perpetual Help) Cemetery, Leckrone.
