Bradley T. Burke
Uniontown
The life journey of Bradley T. Burke, 73, son of the late Theodore Burke and Martha Brown Burke, began on May 10, 1950, in Uniontown, and ended at his home in Uniontown, surrounded by loved ones on September 26, 2023. What a life he had!
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Tom Brown, Bill and Keith Burke; and his furry friends: Mike, Chay Lin, Pandy, Buster, Teddy, Winston and Daisy Mae.
He is survived by many family members and friends who loved, laughed, agreed and disagreed with him, including his wife of 41 years, Nancy Davis; the daughter of his heart, Tashia Kellam and her spouse, Naquana Barrow; and his adored grandchildren: Jo’von Kellam, Laisha and Noah Jimenez, all whom brought such joy to his heart; sisters: Devorre “Deedee” Dillard and Anita Kay Smith; nieces and nephews: Andre, Bryant, Keith and Darwin Dillard, and Anthony and Brent Brown; special niece, Tamika Burke and special nephew, John Smith; and special friends: Ed Swaney, Mark DiNunno, Donnie Williams, Billy DeShields and Adolph Edwards.
Bradley was known by the names: T, Bradee, Burke, Brad, Dad, Poppie and Uncle Brad.
He loved his animals and he recently had Benny, his rescue dog. He had the most engaging smile and never met a stranger. He had friends everywhere.
He graduated from Uniontown Area High School, class of 1968.
Throughout his life he was employed at Ford, Volkswagen, and Opals Furniture. Bradley was employed for over 30 years at Fayette Arc, where he became friends with many there.
Bradley loved football, especially the Steelers, and basketball. He was an avid watcher of cooking shows, Judge Judy, and he never missed watching The Voice and America’s Got Talent. He and his friend, Marlene Burke Hogan, would often compare who could pick the winner. He would often tell his wife, Nancy, that she was not following the recipes from the cooking shows while she was cooking. Bradley could make a delicious meatloaf.
He was known as the “Sentinel” in our neighborhood because he was always on watch. While on the front porch he also enjoyed watching the hummingbirds.
Bradley had the most immaculate car in Uniontown and often jokingly calling out Nancy and their grandkids for the condition of their cars.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 29th, at the LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, INC., 297 E. Main Street, Uniontown, where the funeral will also be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 30th.
The family gives many thanks to the dialysis center, including: Liz, Susan, Wendy, Issys, Hope and Dr. Ali, and others who cared for Bradley.
