Brownsville Rotary Club recently honored Kayla Davies, of Republic, as its January student of the month.

A daughter of Christine DeLeonibus and Ron Davies, she is a senior at Brownsville Area High School.

Davies is involved in several school clubs, such as the Spanish Honor Society, Interact Club, Reading Buddies, and Senior Cabinet.

During her sophomore and junior years, Davies was apart of her school’s debate team. She played on the school’s golf team her senior year. During her junior year, Davies was a cheerleader and starred in her school’s musical “Footloose.’’

Throughout all four years of high school, Davies has kept her status on the honor roll.

She works two jobs outside of school and received an employee of the month award.

Davies is also apart of the Cheryl Frost Dance Studio dance team, where she has been dancing for nine years. In her free time, Davies is a teacher’s trainer at her dance studio.

Davies has been accepted into California University of Pennsylvania, where she plans to major in nursing. She wants to be a nurse practitioner and specialize in pediatrics.
