A Dilliner man is facing charges after police said he was found drunk and in possession of a state Department of Transportation handicapped street sign at a service station in Greene County early Sunday.

Trooper John R. Simko said the 19-year-old was discovered unconscious in the passenger seat of his car at 4:27 a.m.

Simko said police also saw a large, yellow PennDOT street sign featuring a drawing of a wheelchair used to signify a handicapped parking area or loading zone.

Simko said the suspect admitted to stealing the street sign from the Davistown or Mount Morris area.

Officers also noted that the suspect was discovered to be on probation.

Simko said the man will be charged with theft, receiving stolen property, public drunkenness and underage drinking, and said that he was placed in Greene County Prison on a probation detainer.

His identity is being withheld pending the formalization of charges.
