A Greene County woman who police allege lied about being raped in late November waived a single charge against her to court today.

Jamie Marie Gump, 29, of Waynesburg was charged with a providing false reports to law enforcement by Trooper Robert Cree who alleged Gump called Greene County 911 and reported that she was raped at a location in Franklin Township at 6:05 p.m. Nov. 27.

Through the course of his investigation, Cree said that Gump gave differing accounts of the alleged sexual assault.

When she was eventually confronted with the inconsistencies, Cree said Gump admitted to fabricating the rape.

Gump waived the misdemeanor charge to Greene County Court during a preliminary hearing today before Magisterial District Judge Glenn Bates.
