A Morgantown, W.Va., teen has pleaded guilty in Monongalia County circuit court to second degree murder in the death of a Star City teen whose remains were found in Greene County in January.

U.S. Attorney William Ihlenfeld II announced that Rachel Shoaf, 16, was charged with killing 16-year-old Skylar Neese and said that Shoaf entered the plea after she was charged as an adult on Wednesday. Shoaf remains in custody while awaiting sentencing, Ihlenfeld said.

Greene County Coroner Gregory Rohanna said that the remains, found Jan. 16 in a wooded area of Wayne Township, were confirmed as those of Neese following a lengthy investigation by the coroner's office, the FBI and law enforcement officials in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
