The Yum Yum's Bagel Cafe's bakery was badly damaged in a fire Saturday evening, according to the Uniontown Fire Department.

The fire started in the bakery beside the bagel shop at 318 Morgantown Street in Uniontown just before 8 p.m. No injuries were reported. A state police fire marshal was called to investigate the cause of the fire.

"The damage is, unfortunately, pretty extensive," said Uniontown Fire Lt. Scott Conn. "A lot of heat and smoke damage throughout."

He said fire in the roof also caused structural damage.

Uniontown firefighters had their "hands full" and called off-duty firefighters to assist, along with South Union and Hopwood volunteer fire departments.

"Everyone worked extremely well together. Fortunately, no injuries happened at the scene," he said.

Firefighters cleared the scene at about 11 p.m.
