More than 300 motorcyclists rolled off Sunday morning from the Washington County Fairgrounds for a nearly 100-mile charity fundraising ride that took them into Fayette and Greene counties before returning to Washington later in the afternoon.

The 21st annual Blue Ride fundraiser organized by the Blue Knights Chapter 16 and Washington Lodge 164 was expected to raise more than $50,000 for at least 50 different organizations.

“It’s a great ride that helps a lot of groups,” said Dave Richards, joint chairman of the Blue Ride.

The rollout took nearly eight minutes as the riders followed each other single file onto the roadway.
