West Virginia man headed to trial for allegedly shooting girl
A West Virginia man accused of shooting a girl in the head will stand trial on several charges.
District Judge Jason Cox held all charges against Nathan Glasscock, 37, of Barrackville, W. Va., for common pleas court at Glasscock’s preliminary hearing Tuesday.
Glasscock is accused in court records of shooting the girl at about 5 p.m. Nov. 20 at a home in the 20 block of Carlisle Street in Uniontown.
Uniontown police said that Glasscock confessed to shooting the girl, but claimed to be aiming for her grandmother, who “was getting in the way of their relationship.”
The girl was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Uniontown police said Tuesday that she remains in a neurological intensive-care unit, and have not identified her.
Glasscock faces felony charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, burglary, and misdemeanors of reckless endangerment. He is currently being held in the Fayette County jail without bond.
Glasscock is scheduled to be arraigned at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 18.
