Cleveland man shot during Fayette County burglary
A Cleveland man is in stable condition after being shot twice while he was allegedly burglarizing a home in Henry Clay Township Saturday night, according to police.
Pennsylvania State Police were called to a home at about 11:20 p.m. at 844 Mae West Rd. for a reported burglary in progress. The homeowner at the residence confronted David Luczak, 62, of Cleveland, with a gun and shot Luczak twice in the face after Luczak allegedly did not leave the premises.
When patrol units arrived, they secured the gun and rendered aid to Luczak, who was later life-flighted to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va. As of Sunday, Luczak was listed as in stable condition.
The Uniontown State Police Criminal Investigation Unit and the Fayette County District Attorney’s office are investigating. Luczak will be charged with burglary.
