A Uniontown man is being held without bond after allegedly trying to flee from police early Tuesday morning.

According to court paperwork, Harley Lawver, 34, was parked near the entrance of the Martin’s Plaza in Connellsville around 12:30 a.m. when police tried to detain him. At the time, Lawver was being surveilled as part of a separate investigation, though there have been no other charges filed against him.

When police tried to detain Lawver, he allegedly tried to flee on foot before a trooper used a Taser to stop him. Police found a revolver with an obliterated serial number, drug paraphernalia and suspected cocaine and crack cocaine when they searched his car, the complaint stated.

Police also detained Cheyeanne Decker, 27, of Hunker, who was in Lawver’s vehicle when he allegedly fled. According to the criminal complaint, Decker was found with “white powdery substance on her hands and backside” along with what appeared to be additional drugs on her person.

Lawver faces charges including prohibited possession of firearms, carrying a gun without a license, altering a weapon, evading police and drug possession with intent to deliver.

Decker is being held at the Fayette County jail on a $50,000 bond, facing several drug-related charges.

Both are scheduled for preliminary hearings later this month before District Judge Ronald Haggerty Jr.
