Uniontown man extradited from Las Vegas on homicide charge
A Uniontown man accused of killing his wife is back in Pennsylvania after he was arrested in Las Vegas earlier this month.
Uniontown police public information officer Tom Kolencik confirmed that Arthur Eugene Guty was extradited over the weekend and arrived on Monday.
“We had a transport company take him from Vegas to our police department,” Kolencik said. “He was arraigned and given no bond.”
Police discovered the body of 26-year-old Franverlys “Nicole” Zambranobriceno the afternoon of Jan. 1 at 39 Bierer Ave.
Zambranobriceno died from a single gunshot wound “to a vital area of the body,” but police did not provide additional details.
Police are unsure when Zambranobriceno died, but she had been reported missing on Dec. 29 by co-workers.
Authorities in Las Vegas arrested Guty at a casino the morning after police found Zambranobriceno.
In addition to the homicide charge, Guty also faces a felony charge of aggravated assault.
Guty is due to appear for a preliminary hearing at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 8. He is currently being held in the Fayette County jail without bond.
