Greene chamber scholarship deadline approaches

2 min read

Students interested in applying for two scholarships from the Greene County Chamber of Commerce still can make the deadline, but time is running out.

The chamber’s Educational Fund Scholarship, which was first awarded in 1991, is open to any Greene County student who will be a graduating senior. The student who is chosen is selected by a panel of judges and will receive a $1,500 scholarship and a laptop from PCsquared. The winner is chosen based on an essay of a given topic.

In addition, the chamber also awards the “Dr. Nancy I. Davis Memorial Leadership Scholarship” in memory of the late Dr. Nancy I. Davis. It is also a $1,500 scholarship and is presented to an individual of any age that is seeking to continue their education and expand their leadership skills.

Completed applications for both scholarships must be submitted no later than midnight on April 1. The winners will be announced in early May. The award for the educational fund scholarship will be presented at the chamber’s monthly general membership luncheon in May at Waynesburg University.

Top-scoring applicants may also be interviewed before a panel of judges as part of the process.

Applications are available in the chamber office at 3157 Mt. Morris Road and can also be obtained by calling 724 627-5926 or downloading it from the chamber website at www.greenechamber.org.
