Uniontown man accused of pistol whipping woman
An arrest warrant was filed Thursday for a Uniontown man accused of pistol whipping a woman in the city earlier this month.
Santana Daily Jones, 20, is facing two charges of felony aggravated assault and numerous other misdemeanor counts after Uniontown police said he came up to the woman as she got out of her parked car at Pershing Court and struck her in the forehead with his firearm on March 4.
Police said after Jones hit the woman with his pistol, he kicked her in the head while she was lying on the ground, causing her to then strike a yellow parking pole. The woman went to WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital for treatment, where police observed a large laceration that appeared to be in “U” shape from the gun. While at the hospital, she told officers that Jones attacked her.
In addition to the aggravated assault charges, Jones is also facing misdemeanor counts of possessing an instrument of crime, simple assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and harassment. The arrest warrant is filed at District Judge Jason Cox’s office in Uniontown.
