Police briefs Feb. 11
NORTH UNION TOWNSHIP
Fleeing: Conrad Blair, 61, of Uniontown faces numerous charges after he allegedly fled from a traffic stop around 9:30 am. on Friday. According to court paperwork, when state police tried to stop Blair near Industrial Park Drive, he fled at a “high rate of speed.” His vehicle eventually crashed into a ditch and flipped onto its roof, the complaint stated. Police said Blair was transported to a West Virginia hospital for treatment, and a passenger in the vehicle refused medical attention. Blair faces charges of DUI, prohibited possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment, possession of a controlled substance, fleeing and eluding, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing the administration of law enforcement and criminal mischief, as well as several summary offenses. He has yet to be arraigned in the case.
CONNELLSVILLE
Corruption of minors: Connellsville police charged Johnathan D. Whipkey, 18, of Connellsville and Cooper Sepkovic, 18, of Connellsville with posing as a girl online to lure a man to a meeting place to assault him and depict him as a pedophile. Police said they watched a Snapchat video taken on Oct. 29 of Sepkovic and two juveniles confronting the man and trying to fight him. The man instead fled on his bicycle, and police said Sepkovic and the juveniles followed him in vehicles before the man was able to get away from them. Whipkey, who allegedly helped orchestrate the incident, told police he was supposed to be there but was unable to come at the last minute. Whipkey and Sepkovic are both charged with corruption of minors, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and harassment. Sepkovic is also charged with stalking. Preliminary hearings for both men are scheduled for next month.
