A Point Marion woman is accused of leading police on a vehicle chase that began in Monongalia County, W. Va., and ended on Water Street in Smithfield, according to a criminal complaint.

State police alleged Malorie Christine Crow, 38, “fled at a high rate of speed” from a traffic stop on Point Marion Road in Monongalia County around 10:30 p.m. on Monday.

Police said Crow drove across the state line into Pennsylvania, where a Point Marion police officer used their vehicle to block part of the roadway on Water Road in Smithfield.

According to police, Crow evaded police for approximately 14 miles going at speeds around 70 mph. Once she was taken into custody, police said Crow displayed signs of being impaired.

She was charged with fleeing or eluding, driving under the influence and disorderly conduct. She was also cited for driving with a suspended license and careless driving. She is currently being housed at the Fayette County jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond.

Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for next month in front of District Judge Daniel Shimshock.
