Uniontown woman appears on Tamron Hall Show
A Uniontown woman’s appearance on the nationally syndicated Tamron Hall Show aired Thursday during the show’s sixth season premiere episode.
Sharing her passion for fitness and navigating weight loss through her menopausal journey with the audience, Chantla Israil of Uniontown said her dream came true when she was asked to participate on the talk show.
“It was a beautiful experience, I got to go to New York – it was an all-expense opportunity – and I was able to stay in a beautiful, well-known hotel in Upper Manhattan that was just two blocks from her studio,” Israil said Thursday. “It was just such an awesome experience.”
Hosted by broadcast journalist, author and two-time Emmy award winner Tamron Hall, since its 2019 premiere the daily talk show is known for its insightful conversations on topics such as politics, fashion and health.
In September, Israil answered a prompt addressing subjects surrounding perimenopause, menopause or postmenopause on the show’s website that asks audience members to share their stories for a chance to come on the show.
“I talked about how the transition of the menstrual cycle as you get older and how it impacts your body,” Israil said. “I talked about how (the transition) impacts women especially when they’re trying to lose or gain weight and how the imbalance of certain hormones can make it very difficult, and we don’t really notice that unless we’re more familiar with what stage of the menstrual cycle we’re going through.”
The 49-year-old Uniontown woman said she believes she was chosen to be part of the show because her story of navigating health and menstrual cycles is one that resonates with many women.
“It’s something that is relatable to women in my age group and even women in their 40s who are going through the transitions with their menstrual cycle and are having health concerns,” she said.
Her response caught the attention of producers who contacted her and asked her to be a guest with three other women who would talk about setting different goals in 2025.
“They got a hold of me on a Friday and that Wednesday I was leaving for New York,” she said.
The episode was taped in October but aired Thursday as part of the show’s sixth season premiere, which included appearances by motivational speaker Lisa Nichols, aspiring actress Shakyra Lashae, relationship coach Megan Weks and 63-year old body builder Cynthia Stewart.
“They didn’t tell me until taping was over that it wasn’t going to air until the new year, and it was probably going to be one of her most watched shows because it is her first show of the new year,” she said.
