Donora man charged in vehicular assault

Donora police charged a borough man accused of striking another man with his vehicle in February.
Jerome Ryan Hem Lee, 49, of Donora, faces felony charges of aggravated assault by vehicle and accidents involving death or personal injury.
According to the criminal complaint, at about 4:40 a.m. Feb. 4 police were called to the intersection of Third Street and Meldon Avenue and found Lasana Kamara leaning against the nearby Dollar General.
Charging documents state that Kamara had been struck by a vehicle being driven by Hem Lee. Kamara was transported to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with a broken leg, broken ribs and internal bleeding.
Yvette Bradshaw, Hem Lee’s girlfriend, told investigators that Kamara had slashed the tires of Hem Lee’s vehicle.
According to the complaint, Hem Lee was driving Bradshaw’s vehicle at the time of the collision. Bradshaw told police they were searching for Kamara to confront him about the slashed tires when they saw him hiding in bushes near the Dollar General.
Bradshaw claimed to investigators that Hem Lee accelerated when Kamara approached the vehicle because Kamara had previously threatened them with a firearm.
There is an active warrant for Hem Lee’s arrest.
