Connellsville man arrested in Sheetz robbery
A Connellsville man is behind bars for allegedly robbing Sheetz on West Crawford Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. Friday.
Shane Michael Klink, 28, of 8th Street was caught on surveillance footage and identified by his family members, Connellsville Police said.
Police said Klink entered the checkout line at Sheetz with his hood covering his face and demanded money from the cashier. He claimed he had a gun, and kept his left hand in his pocket. He fled with cash, according to court paperwork. Police said he was wearing a camouflage jacket with a light-colored hooded sweatshirt underneath and black pants.
He was arrested Sunday and arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Jennifer Jeffries, who set bail at $75,000. Klink remains in Fayette County Prison, unable to post bail. He is charged with robbery, terroristic threats, theft, receiving stolen property, simple assault and harassment.
Klink is no stranger to the law. He has two active misdemeanor cases filed in October and November for alleged thefts. In October 2018, he was sentenced to six months in prison after pleading guilty to escape in Allegheny County. He pleaded guilty to burglary in 2012 and was initially sentenced to probation. In 2017, he was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months to five years in prison in the burglary case, according to court documents.
