Dorothy Ann Solly Chuey of Uniontown, passed away December 14, 2023 in her home.

Dorothy was 94 years old. She was a daughter of the late Jacob Solly and Mary Ann Ilcin Solly.

She was a member of St. Therese Church and the Rosary Altar Society.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Robert and David Chuey; along with several grandchildren, nieces and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Francis A. Chuey; and seven brothers, Robert, Andrew, Jacob Jr., Bill, Frank. Charles and Ray Solly.

Life was a spiritual journey for Dorothy who gave up her ambition of becoming a nurse to care and provide for her disabled husband.

After high school graduation, Dorothy used her skills to do more than just earn a living. “Hers was a simple life, well led. She understood how the journey unfolds. She was fully involved in whatever her life asked her to do. Dorothy was spiritual and generous. She was my best friend and a woman of grace.” I will miss her dearly said her son, Robert, who was her caregiver for 24 years.

Dorothy was employed by the greater Uniontown Credit Bureau for 36 years and served as manager until her retirement in 1995. The Board of Directors of the Greater Uniontown Credit Bureau adopted a Resolution on March 8, 1995 in recognition of the devoted services of Dorothy A. Chuey which stated, “whereas the Board wishes to publicly note that Dorothy A. Chuey is an individual of unique qualities and business skills, is a person of splendid character, and is an individual of integrity and honesty. Dorothy A. Chuey has utilized all of the above qualities in the provision of credit and collection services to businesses located in Uniontown, PA.”

Dorothy was a volunteer for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She worked tirelessly for children facing cancer.

Family and friends will be received from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday December 19, 2023 at the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext. Uniontown. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St Therese Church, 61 Mill St. Uniontown. Interment will follow at St. Mary (Nativity) Cemetery, Uniontown.
