Richard Elias George Sr., 75 of Uniontown, passed away with his loving family by his side on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
He was born May 11, 1948.
Preceding him in death were his parents George and Mabel George Sr.; sister, Denise Nestor and sister-in-law, Julie George.
Surviving are his wife, Debbie George; sons, Richard George Jr. and wife Michele, Gregory George and Kelly McCormick, and Chuck Berkshire Jr. and wife Sharon; daughter, Lana Berkshire; grandchildren, Anna George, Dylan Berkshire and girlfriend Winter Commander, Emme Berkshire and Chaz Berkshire; former wife, Lana George; siblings, Ferris “Pee Wee” George and wife Kamberly, Donald George and wife Sherry, Mary Ann Gibson and husband Kenny, Blair George, George George Jr. and Randy Nestor; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; beloved cat Uswood and longtime Army friend, David and Paula Monska.
Richard served in the United States Army 101st Airborn during the Vietnam War and was injured in Combat. He was an expert rifle marksman; life member of the VFW and member of American Legion Post 51.
He was a Finish Carpenter by trade, a perfectionist and always took pride in his work.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, thrift store shopping and antique collecting.
Family and friends are invited to Richard’s Funeral Mass in Saint George Maronite Church, 6 Lebanon Terrace, Uniontown, Pa. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Father Aaron J. Sandbothe officiating.
Military Rites will be accorded after the service by General Marshall Amvets Post 103 Honor Guard.
