John Hela Jr., 73, of Jefferson Township, Perryopolis, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, in Hillside Manor Personal Care Home, with his sister at his side.
He was born October 22, 1950, in Fayette City, son of John Hela Sr. and Julia Lucas Hela.
He was a member of Holy resurrection Orthodox Church, Belle Vernon.
John was a veteran of the United States Army during Vietnam.
He was a member of the American Slovanic Citizens Club of Fayette City, Star Junction Fish and Game Club and was retired from US Steel Clairton works.
He is survived by his sister, Marcia Hela of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, in the ELEY-MCCRORY FUNERAL HOME, Fayette City. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2023, with Father Stephen Gresh officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery, Belle Vernon, PA 15012.
