Joseph Walter “Yogi” Yoders, 75, of Lemont Furnace, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Dolores Lipperini Yoders; sons, Richard (Pamela) Burkovich, Christopher Burkovich and Randolph S. Yoders; and brother, Charles (Lu) Yoders. Joseph is also survived by his loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many cher-ished family members and friends.
Joseph was a member of the UMWA, Local 1248.
As a member of the United States Army, he honorably served our country during the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW, Post 8543.
He was a long-standing member of St. Therese Roman Catholic Church of Uniontown, and a committed member of the Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his civic and community involvement, Joseph was an active member of the Hutchinson Gun Club and the Lemont Sportsman Club. He was an avid gun-lover, fisherman and Steelers Fan, who thoroughly enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson.
Friends will be received at the GATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY LLC., 136 N. Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, PA 15401, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 24, and until 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, when Prayers of Transfer will be said, followed by a Fu-neral Mass at 10 a.m. at Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill Street, Un-iontown. Interment Private.
